Shuttering the program for a while

1 CommentsBeauty Blogs Backstage is closing down until October 2011, for a few reasons. At that time it will re-open, both for the remaining participating sites and for new participants. I am thinking of going to a recommendation-invite-only system so that folks who are participants are known to be both reliable, and truly want to participate - not just get more linkbacks. There have just been too many instances of people who appear not to participate at all, and it’s not fair to those who do regularly participate, speak up when they need to opt out for a month, and do try to contact their partners but the partners don’t respond.

June 2011 Partner Assignments

10 CommentsPartner assignments will be posted here, you'll post your interview URLs here, you can even post your questions here in the comments, once you've sent them to your partner. Milestone dates for this month are:
- 3rd: interview partner assignments posted to the site.
- 10th: (recommended) last day email their interviews to that month's partner.
- 15th: if your partner has not responded to your email, leave a comment and you'll be matched with someone else.
- 20th: (recommended) last day respond to your partner's interview of you.
- 28th: last day for interviews to be posted on each participant's blog, and for URLs of those interviews to be left in the comments for that month's partner-assignment post. You can post earlier...just don't post later.
If you try contacting your partner and they don't respond, please comment on this post by the 15th so that you can be rematched with someone else.

All those links go to folks' member profile page, so you may need to log in to see the information (like their Twitter ID and their actual site URL.)
Write up seven questions for your partner, send them off, and then once you've received your answers and posted the interview on your site - leave that URL here. You have until the 28th of the month to post your interview with your partner on your site. You're free to post it earlier if you wish, and leave the URL here once you're done.

It centralizes things a bit more, makes things a little more transparent, and hopefully does away with some of the frustrating communcations-drops that have happened in previous rounds.
